05.12.2018
The long-awaited ceremony of awarding the Russian athlete Bakhtiyar Akhmedov Olympic gold took place on the 2nd December 2018 at the Absolute Cup of Ivan Yarygin in Moscow.

Ten years ago, in 2008 Akhmedov won the bronze medal in the Olympics in Pekin. The athlete from Uzbekistan Artur Taymazov won the gold medal that year. However, last year in the doping samples of the winner found the illegal drugs and his result was annulled. Thus, Akhmedov was recognized as the Olympic champion of the 2008 freestyle wrestling Games in the weight category up to 120 kg. "It's been 10.5 years since I, I believe, not on merit, on the chest hung silver Olympic medal. For 10.5 years I have never picked it up. It took 10.5 years, and about two and a half months ago I sent it to the Olympic Committee. I think that I will treat this medal differently, " Akhmedov said.

"Today very joyful and exciting event not only in the world of wrestling of Russia, but also for all fans of sports. 10 years later justice is restored, our athlete is awarded the Olympic medal.

Our position is zero tolerance to doping, now new technologies can reveal dishonest athletes. Today the anthem of our country will sound, the flag of Russia will be raised, the name of Akhmedov will be inscribed in gold letters in the history of Russian sports", – said the President of the Olympic Committee of Russia Stanislav Pozdnyakov.

The company Lawitt Hamilton is very proud of its Practice of "Sports law" and thanks Bakhtiar for the trust!
